Kitchen benchtop is in

Passed by the house today and was excited to see our caesarstone benchtop & Oliveri undermount sink had been installed. Now its just a nervous wait for my splashback & then my kitchen is complete (minus appliances which get installed last).

The painter is coming after Easter. I choose Antique White USA for the wall colour. Its a white but definitely seems to pick up colours around it so it will be interesting to see the finished product. Down the track we're planning some feature walls so it will be a nice clean palette to work with.

Chippies made short work of it this week WOW!

The carpenters came & went in a flash but wow what a difference.

Our eaves are up...

pantry

and bedroom shelves are in.

The doors are hung ...

architraves & skirting affixed.

Close up of the colonial style skirting we picked. We went for something a little more
decorative.

The carpenters weren't the only ones who visited however
the splashback tiles are up in the laundry and

the plaster put up some more cornice around the kitchen cupboards.

Inside sneek peek...

Had to visit the chippies on site today so I took advantage of getting into the house by running around and taking more photos of the now finished cabinetry.

Trying out splashback colours hmmm....

Kitchen cabinets are in ... sweet!

First look at the kitchen cabinets. I'm so happy, they look gorgeous. I was worried that polar white would be too stark but it just looks fresh & modern. It will look fantastic with a red glass splashback.

A look through my filthy family room window

Peeking through my study window at the end of the island bench with the integrated dishwasher. Love the gorgeous gloss surface.

Laundry cabinet & bench is in

After initially being so disappointed with my bathroom cabinet & bench colour scheme, I've been pretty apprehensive about the rest of my cabinetry & how it was going to turn out. And for the record, I chose the colours so I have no one to blame but myself :(

Luckily I am delighted with how my laundry turned out & LOVE the colours. It will have a simple white tile splashback. We have a front loading washing machine that we will squeeze under the bench.

Bathroom vanities are in!

Our site supervisor Trevor mentioned our bathroom vanities had been installed so we hurried down for a look.

Finished tiling bath

Main bathroom vanity - the square basin will be centered above the doors (rather than vanity unit if you are wondering why the rock tiling doesn't look centered)

Ensuite vanity - again the basin to centered above the doors

Vanity showing the shadowline (we've been assured any crooked doors wll be rehung once they finish installing the cabinets, hope so).

I'm happy with the finishes but not so sure about my colour choices. I will need to wait and see the finished product before making my judgment I think.

Ohhh what's happening this week...

Visited the house for the umpteenth time with not much expectation since it was raining again. No brickies but the tilers had been to finish off. Was about to leave when Josh spotted something in the foyer. Who knew you could get so excited about an uninstalled laundry cabinet?!?! Could we be talking cabinets installed this week.....ahhhhh please oh please?

Bathroom feature tiling done

Our tilers are on a mission. The feature tiling in our bathrooms is up and looking great. They will probably grout the tiles tomorrow.

Brickies still fighting the rain

Our bricklayers are still fighting the rain but at least the house is nearly bricked, much like the roof is nearly tiled. The brick is quite different to our expectations as all the samples showed the colour as an even light brick. It was a shock to suddenly end up with a speckled house but its a done deal now. We are telling ourselves it gives our house 'character' but family & friends have commented that they like the look so I guess its all a matter of taste.
